Founder and President of Preferred Financial Strategies, Inc., Sara is a graduate of Virginia Intermont College and the University of Virginia. In 1986 she received the professional designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP) from the College for Financial Planning in Denver. Her practice has always focused on comprehensive analysis through use of the financial planning process. She stays current by attending over 80 hours of continuing education annually.

Entering the financial services industry in 1979, she rapidly advanced to become the youngest Division Manager with a prior firm, and only the second female to hold this position. Professional recognition include being a 
finalist three times for the National Association of Women Business Owners - Charlotte, Woman Business Owner of the Year, President's Elite team at FSC Securities Corporation, 2008, 2009, 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Manager*.  In May 2009 she was named one of 25 Women in Business Achievement winners by the Charlotte Business Journal. 

An advocate for clients, a mentor for peers and a pathfinder in the profession Sara values her long term personal and professional relationships.

Some of her community involvement includes Carolina's Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, National Association of Women Business Owners,  NAWBO North Charter Member and program chair, and Charlotte/Lake Norman eWomen Network.  PFS, Inc. is a longstanding member of the Mooresville - South Iredell Chamber and the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce.
