Our Experience - Featuring Mary Jo
Mary Jo Lyons, CFP Prior to establishing an independent practice with Preferred Financial Strategies, Mary Jo, a CFP® practitioner, has served her clients in a number of corporate settings: As an Investment Consultant for Schwab Private Client; and most recently as a Wealth Management Advisor, Financial Planning Specialist, and Training Consultant at TIAA-CREF, the leading retirement system for people who work in the academic, research, medical and cultural fields. In these roles Mary Jo developed a deep knowledge of the retirement planning process, specializing in 401-ks and 403-bs. Having built two sizable wealth management practices in her years as an advisor, we feel she understands the needs of clients transitioning to and through retirement as well as those focused on growing their assets. A Texas native, Mary Jo is a graduate of Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi. Mary Jo begins with an in-depth assessment of your current situation, goals, feelings, future and family dynamics. From there she tailors a plan specifically suited to your personal risk tolerance and individual needs. An active listener and personalized problem strategist she coaches her clients to focus on a long-term investment horizon, striving to minimize emotional responses to day-to-day market swings. Most people don't have the time, expertise, or interest to navigate the maze of decisions they face regarding their investments and the retirement planning process. Mary Jo provides a steady hand to help guide them. Common questions clients often ask are: Do I have enough? Is it allocated appropriately? What's the most tax efficient withdrawal strategy? How can I reduce my taxes? How do I coordinate all these moving pieces? Will my family be ok if something happens to me? What about you, what questions to you have? Does your plan need a checkup in 2011? Do you even have a plan? Call today to schedule your complementary initial consultation.
